Meet Sacha Finch
A haunted antagonist with a hidden heart

“I don’t know if you were the one hired to make this curse,” Finch leaned forward like he was testing the integrity of the knife against his ribs. “But you’re going to unmake it. Like it or not.”
Sacha Finch, a main character of the upcoming dark fantasy, Blightshade, is a secretive former criminal with stone-cold competence and a hidden soft core.
Sacha’s past dogs his every step. He’s always looking over his shoulder. And while Sacha has sworn off the violence of his history, there’s no threat he’s unwilling to pit his strength against.
Of the four main characters, Sacha is the only non-witch. He has no magic, but more than compensates for an absence of powers with a near-supernatural determination and resilience.

But Sacha’s past has caught up with him, and this time it can’t be outrun or out fought. A curse has taken root in Sacha, inflicting debilitating pain and spreading like a mold. He needs a Curse Crafter to break the spell. But Curse Crafting is such rare magic that the one witch who can help him is likely the very same witch who cursed him in the first place.
As his condition worsens and spreads, Sacha has to decide what he’s willing to do to unmake the curse. Is he willing to embrace the violence of his past again for a chance to be cured? Is he sure he’s making the right Curse Crafter pay?

If morally tortured antagonists aren’t a selling point enough on their own, here’s what beta readers are saying about Sacha:
“Why is this so hot?”
-J.H.
“I'm not even halfway through and Sacha just KEEPS getting hotter!”
-T.H.
“Sacha throwing Lorne around like a ragdoll is hot.”
-R.H.
So there’s that.
Blightshade is Alison Wright's dark fantasy debut following Lorne, a vain witch with corrupted magic. Lorne's quest for a cure will expose his diseased powers, entangle his fate in a knot of unstable relationships, and force him to face the very monster that blighted him.
