Tahj’s attention followed her like a sunflower followed daylight. She countered each earnest gesture. Diffuse. Deflect. Joke off. God, Tahj was good at getting himself hurt.

Tahj Annand, a main supporting character of the upcoming dark fantasy, Blightshade, is a soft-hearted golden retriever with bottomless loyalty to his loved ones.

Tahj contrasts his brother Lorne’s icy demeanor in every way. He’s a hopeless romantic, a passionate cook, and a lover of classic literature. He is a Charging witch. His magic blooms in the form of olive flowers, and can be used to energize, strengthen and stabilize others.

Charging is a generous magic. While generosity is one of Tahj’s greatest strengths, he gives to others beyond the point of exhaustion and burn-out. He can’t turn away from anyone in need, going as far as to give the arm off his own body to save Lorne’s life after a botched ritual.

Tahj’s family means everything to him. But as a mysterious condition corrupts Lorne’s magic, Lorne ices him out, forcing Tahj to face the question of what else he’s willing to give to save his family.

Blightshade is Alison Wright's dark fantasy debut following Lorne, a vain witch with corrupted magic. Lorne's quest for a cure will expose his diseased powers, entangle his fate in a knot of unstable relationships, and force him to face the very monster that blighted him.
